General Questions (14)

Do I have to be a ninja, or a super athlete to participate?

NO WAY! All of our obstacles were designed to be safe and fun for everyone. The amount of fun you have on race day is totally up to you. If an obstacle looks like more than you bargained for, there will be a lane set up for you to enjoy watching other participants, or just run past it to the next obstacle.

Can I get a refund or transfer my ticket to someone else?

Unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds or transfers. Please make sure you can attend before purchasing a ticket.

How deep is the water?

Water depth varies by obstacle, but is no deeper than 3 feet.

What is needed to pick up my packet?

You will need a printed copy of your ticket(s), as well as I.D.

Can I have my friend/teammate pick up my packet?

Yes! One person may pick up multiple packets – that person will just need a printed copy of each friend/teammate’s ticket.

Change I exchange my t-shirt for a different size?

Unfortunately, we can’t exchange t-shirts as they are ordered per-registrant. Please make sure you select the correct t-shirt size during registration.

Can I pick up my packet the day of the race?

General packet pick up is held a day or two before race day. If you can’t make it to that packet pick up, you can get it the morning of the race. There may be a small fee you’ll have to pay to pick up your packet on race day, as well as limited hours they are available. We will send out pre-race documents with details the week of the race.

What’s the difference between teams and individual registration?

It’s incredibly fun to watch people do these obstacles. It’s even better when you know the person. So the more people you have on your team, the more opportunities you have to laugh and enjoy the show! Teammates can run together or separate, and there are no relay elements, or additional rules for members of teams. It is important to note that there is no team time – team members register for wave times individually, so it’s up to you to coordinate with your other team members and choose the same wave time during registration.

Can kids participate?

Hit and Runners 14 and older can run, get hit, flip, and flop in any heat. Runners age 10 to 13 can participate in one of the parent/kid waves. All locations have a parent/kid wave at 11 a.m., and some locations have an additional parent/kid wave at 2 p.m.

It is simple to register with kids! They get a regular ticket, too. Just be sure to choose the same wave time to run together. Kids 10 to 13 must be accompanied by an adult, and one adult can accompany up to 3 kids.

How big are the obstacles? Are they as massive as they look?

Truth be told, they’re probably bigger than they look in videos and photographs. To give you a bit of perspective, one of our obstacles has two, 20 feet tall sections and is 65 feet long—that’s roughly the height and length of Tyrannosaurus Rex with much more girth. Oh, and ours is covered in slippery foam and surrounded by dodgeball canons. T. Rex never had the pleasure of being covered in foam or surrounded by flying balls of rubber (that we know of).

A 30 foot balance beam extends across the length of another one of our obstacles, over the top of 42,000 gallons of water. It’s your mission (should you accept it) to cross the beam while dodging 12 balls (taller than the average man) that spin overhead to bump you, knock you, and send you plummeting into the cool water below.

Is the Hit and Run 5k timed?

This race is a fun run, meaning it’s not competitive. You can sprint, jog, skip, or even cartwheel your way through the course. It’s up to you. That being said, we’re planning to have timed, competitive races for past Hit and Run 5K participants in the future. So, if you think you can dominate our course and re-challenge our obstacles quicker and more flawlessly than others, you’ll want to signup for our email list to receive exciting news and updates about future events.

What comes with registration?

First and foremost you get to run through, climb up, jump on, and flip over an obstacle course that’s known to make grown ninjas cry.

Runners also get a stylish Hit and Run 5K shirt and matching headband (rumored to make one run faster and bounce harder) and a race packet full of deals from our incredible sponsors.

When you register for a regular season run, you also get access to the invitation-only championship event (details coming soon… but let’s just say it may take place atop floating obstacles of fun). So, to sum it up, you get a lot of cool stuff, so! SIGN UP TODAY!

How can I get you to come to my city?

The best way to get a Hit and Run 5k event in your city is get tons of people to sign up for updates and make sure to include your city in the “Recommend a City” Field. The response to this event has been incredible so far and we plan on using city recommendations as votes to tell us where the most interested people live.
